LINDSAY - A City of Kawartha Lakes OPP officer faces a Highway Traffic Act charge after an on-duty crash on May 19.

The officer was responding to a collision involving an injury on Hwy. 7 west of Kent St. when the second involving his cruiser took place, OPP said.

The officer suffered minor injuries. The other driver was unhut, police said.

The local OPP detachment and the Central Region traffic management unit investigated the collision, which resulted in a charge of not changing lanes safely being laid against Const. Mike Ciesielski, a 29-year veteran of the force.
