Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal to Kinmount woman 0
On Canada Day, Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock MPP, Laurie Scott presented a Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal to Diane Austin of Kinmount.
In presenting the medal, Scott said, “Diane is an active member of the Kinmount community. Her longstanding commitment to various aspects of the community makes her an outstanding candidate to receive a Jubilee Medal.”
In a press release, Scott said Austin has been the chairperson of the Kinmount Committee for Planning and Economic Development, a member of the Friends of the Library, and a member of the City of Kawartha Lakes Communities in Bloom Committee.
Scott went on to say, “Diane is passionate about celebrating our local heritage and has worked tirelessly at the creation of the Austin Sawmill Heritage Parkland and the beautification of the village of Kinmount. She is a great advocate for the town of Kinmount and believes in the power of volunteerism.”
Jubilee Medals are being awarded to men and women across Canada who have made a positive difference in their communities, often as unsung heroes.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for us to say thank you to Diane and other medal recipients who work tirelessly on behalf of all of us. We are grateful for their commitment and contribution,” added Scott.
