-Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit has added another H1N1 clinic to the local area.

A clinic will take place next Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. at Lindsay Collegiate and Vocational Institute (LCVI).

There is also a clinic tomorrow in Bobcaygeon from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. at Knox Presbyterian Church, located on Joseph Street.

Dr. Lynn Noseworthy, medical officer of health, said a large number of people have attended clinics since they were opened to all residents over the age of six months last week.

"In response to this and also the feedback we received from residents, we have been able to schedule an additional clinic to help meet the demand for the vaccine."

Noseworthy stated the health unit is now also offering vaccine clinics at local high schools.

The health unit's weekly report for Nov. 15 to 21 indicated there were three lab-confirmed cases of H1N1 in its coverage area.

Noseworthy asked residents to note that it may sometimes be necessary for the health unit to shut down clinics early if there are more people waiting than can be immunized.
