EMILY CREEK BAND

The band was started about four years ago and over that time has grown in popularity to a point where the group is performing every weekend.

Six people make up the band, four members from the Lindsay area. Larry and Carole Cryderman are from Lindsay and while Tom Westlake and wife Marilyn live on Pigeon Lake. The other two members are Roy Ross from Fraserville and Fay Reid from Orono.

Our music seems to really suit the mid to senior group. We play country music from the 70s to and including the present. We also play lots of waltzes, two steps and even a few square dances. As we have 3 people doing vocals we sing lots of harmony in the group which folks seem to really enjoy.

We play regularly (once a month) for the Lindsay Social dance group at the Armories in Lindsay, also once a month at the Fraserville Hall in Fraserville, Once a month at the Old Town Hall in Newtonville.

WILLIE P. BENNETT
Glowing Hearts Music proudly presents, in commemoration of Remembrance Day on November 11th , Juno Award winner, Willie P. Bennett’s new recording of "Black Against The Wall".

The song, written by Charlie Sohmer ( recent winner of the Grand Prize for Best Song 2007 OCFF Songs From The Heart), is a story about an old soldier looking back in time, recalling battles and friends, long gone.

Against the backdrop of a string quintet, arranged by Tom Annand, Willie’s beautiful vocal and harmonica, evoke images of longing and lament, giving us pause to reflect on the sacrifices made by those who died, and by those who survived.

A SONG FOR LINDSAY
Lindsay, Ontario may be a long way from the land of Robin Hood, but it's found a very special place in one local musician's heart. Two if you count Bethany Rees' musical partner, Bob May.

In the early 1990's Bethany moved to Lindsay from her birthplace in Nottingham, England. Next came nearly a decade of dance, vocal, and flute instruction. Bethany connected with Bob while work with the Voices of Victory youth choir at Cambridge Street United Church. After sharing some stage time together, they began the journey that led to A Song For Lindsay.

The song has become the banner song for the town's 150th celebration in 2007. The duo performed it live on local radio station 91.9 BOB FM.
