The Town of Lindsay has always been acknowledged as the heart of the City of Kawartha Lakes. Not only does the town house the bulk of industries in the city, it is also regarded as a tourist hotspot. The historic Academy Theatre, Skylark VIII and waterway all attract visitors to the area. Lindsay offers visitors an abundance of quaint shops and fine restaurants in its downtown core, which is famous for having the widest main street in the province. Tourism plays a central key to Fenelon Falls, with its wide range of cottages, resorts, and lodges. It is an excellent where people come to vacation once but always end up coming back again and again. Lock 34 of the Trent Severn Waterway located in the center of the town remains one of the busiest locks on the entire waterway. Kinmount
Home to an Icelandic settlement which was recognized by The Ontario Heritage Foundation a few years ago. This town is full of history from Iceland, with this building dating as far back as 1874. Kirkfield

Home to Hugh D. Lumsden, a native of Scotland, who became a land surveyor after moving to the area and later became the reeve of Eldon Township.
