The Earth has always been Round

"Alexandria, VA – ABC, CBS and NBC’s collective silence on “ClimateGate” has reached ridiculous levels as the broadcast networks continued to ignore the great and growing scandal. The bias by omission has become scandalous.

The networks’ silence on ClimateGate is deafening. Scandal, cover-ups and conspiracy are the bread and butter of the media. Yet they have selectively and deliberately decided not to report this bombshell – or any of the incriminating details surrounding the scandal – because it goes against their left-wing agenda," by Brian Bozell, Media Research President.

To continue the absurd proposition that we are engulfed in man-made ‘global warming’ is tantamount to stating that Galileo was wrong, that the earth has always been flat. It is also a confirmation that quotes of this distorted nature, from Paul Watson, co-founder of Greenpeace, “It doesn’t matter what is true; it only matters what people believe is true….You are what the media define you to be. Greenpeace became a myth and a myth-generating machine,” will soon rule the human mind and indeed the entire world.

Science and politicized environmentalism are colliding worlds. Capitalism supports science; the height of pursuing truth. Fascism supports politicized environmentalism, the depth of distorting truth.

Capitalism can thrive without war. It is a producer of goods and services. Capitalism trades with other countries.

Fascism depends on the demise of Capitalism. Fascism destroys goods and services necessitating invasion against other countries.

It must be a priority of the major media and governments to turn this Fascist onslaught around. You owe it to 'our children' and all the people that pay the ultimate price for these continued lies. Dethrone this massive perversion of global warming!

Hooray for HST

The letter writer makes many valid points about taxes and why we have them. I too have received that exact same e-mail. I question her motivation for praising yet another tax when the taxes we already pay are squandered or are otherwise made ineffective. She commented on our roads. Have you seen them lately? They are disgusting. Why haven't they been fixed with the money set aside for such things. As for all the warm and fuzzy green things she mentions, all good and honourable, but she fails to remember that we are dealing with government here and I challenge her to find a good and honourable politician who will actually spend the new revenue on what they said they would spend it on. Unfortunately, there are absolutely no checks and balances for politicians. They will tell you whatever it is you want to hear and then do whatever they want to do. Along with her touting of the green, she failed to consider or mention the impact this will have on retired folk and people of low and fixed incomes. Understand that I am with the letter writer, taxes are a necessary evil. I am not however prepared to hand over any more of my money to government until such time as they can prove to me that it is necessary and will guarantee where it will go. I don't think that is too much to ask. I have been around for quite a long time and I realize that if a politicians lips are moving - likely, they are lying.

In the article by Peggy Armstrong entitled "Petitions Dual Ward 7 Byelection" and starting with "Dualling petitions are circulating in Bobcaygeon", I find a glaring error in the usage of the words "dual and dualling". According to Wikipedia, the word dual is a pair or a grouping of two, whereas duel is an engagement in combat between two individuals. Yes indeed, there are two petitions going around Bobcaygeon, but calling them "dualling" definitely underscores the incorrect usage of one of two ****nyms. Unfortunately with the lack of emphasis on correct spelling in today's schools and widespread usage of Spell-Check in modern times, this is not uncommon, but still rankles to someone who values the correct usage of the written language. I expect better from the professionals who provide me with coverage of local news. This is not quite as bad as an article I read several years ago on the new bridge being built in Vroomanton(just across the border of CKL to the west of us in Brock township) in which the hamlet was incorrectly identified many times in the article as "Vroom-Manton". It was obvious that the writer of that article had never visited the hamlet and had conducted her research at a distance. Keep up the good work of providing us with great local coverage, accessible to all who care to read it, but please, please know what you are talking about before committing it to visible media. Thanks for the forum to vent.
